BBC Worldwide Americas hired Perkins Eastman to program and design a new headquarters in New York City that would relocate and consolidate their organization from 45,000 sf displaced on three floors to a single-floor 40,000 sf office. The design reflects an organizational culture change established by BBC’s UK headquarters, utilizing streamlined open-team tables for desks, multiple meeting venues ranging from casual seating areas to formal conference rooms, central copy support areas, and no private offices.
Creativity and energy are translated through customized graphic artwork, a mix of inspired lighting and furniture, and the use of bold color to visually identify different conference rooms and zones. The BBC brand is highlighted in the main reception area with a state-of-the-art curved video wall that features BBC productions including movies, television shows, and documentaries.”
