NOW have worked with the Hobbs brand team to re-connect their store interiors with the original heritage and interior language of the brand. Combining beautifully crafted bespoke elements, a modern British classic aesthetic and an underlying strong retail focus the design of their new Flagship store ensures the shop environment delivers on both a commercial and visual level.
Housed within the iconic 1930s Barkers Department Store, the shopfront retains all of the original bronze exterior features. The new interior architecture of the store references the 1930s with its streamlined deco coffers in the ceiling and exaggerated mouldings and details. From the double height entrance space with its elegantly curved steps, and picture wall through the accessories and wardrobe rooms and into the dressing rooms, the customer is treated to a series of different emotional experiences.
The retail furniture upholstery, lighting and individually commissioned illustrations by Mariko Jesse to the walls all reflect Hobbs British craft focus re-enforcing the brands heritage and authentic British aesthetic.
