It has only three months since Comme des Garçons launched CDG, an elaborate collection of logo-infused apparel, accessories and other items that banks on a trend that doesn’t seem to fade anytime soon. To indulge the large fanbase on home turf, a dedicated CDG store has opened its doors on the premises of GYRE, a landmark mall on Omotesando Dori in Tokyo. Interestingly, the store replaces the brand’s Good Design Shop, an affiliated retail format which laid the very foundation of the CDG collection.

The store is situated on the second floor, and is concepted as an opened box – albeit one with the CDG logo boldly featured across the walls, ceiling and floor. Furnishings are sparse, comprising of an elongated sales counter at the entrance and monolithic shelving units at the far end. The new CDG store carries a wide and rotating range of items, including various collab pieces with street brands such as Anti Social Social Club, Molinel and Brain Dead. Meanwhile, a second dedicated CDG has also been launched in downtown Osaka.
