As one of the leading shopping destinations in the Far East, Hong Kong is a must for any self-discerning brand, and it isn’t surprising Stone Island has arrived in town to set up shop. Following the opening of outposts in Seoul, Daegu and Tokyo, this is the Italian brand’s second store in the region, and this new expansion move is in collab with I.T, one of the city’s largest retailers. The Stone Island boutique occupies a 90 sqm. (969 sq.ft.) unit on the ground floor of a soaring mixed-use building in Central. For the interior design of the store, architect Marc Buhre of German practice Zeichenweg was tapped who created a modern and inviting setting that matches the merchandise. The flooring is crafted from light triangle-worked stone and its austerity is counterbalanced by walls dipped in warm gradations of green. Furnishings are eclectic, and comprise of natural oak, anodized aluminium, fibreglass, carbon and a transparent glass. The new Stone Island boutique carries the brand’s full range of men’s coats, jackets, apparel, accessories and shoes.
