Only a year after opening up shop at EmQuartier shopping centre, Maison Kitsuné expands yet again in Bangkok, inaugurating a second outpost at ICONSIAM, another upscale shopping centre halfway across town alongside the Chao Phraya river. Situated on the M Floor, rubbing shoulders with the boutiques of upscale fashion brands such as Fendi, Christian Louboutin and Dior, the Maison Kitsuné store occupies a lofty 96 sqm. (1,033 sq.ft.) unit. The retail space, created by the brand’s in-house design team in Paris, has been divided in three different sections using a palette of locally sourced materials. Each section is demarcated by floor-to-ceiling slatted wooden dividers. Sparsely furnished, the front section sees sleek brass display units lining the side walls, in addition to circular marble displays, and all showcase both capsule products and new products. It’s followed by an area featuring walls clad in oak wood, except two recessed wall niches, matching backlit shelves, and a cabinet with a tiered glass display top. At the far end, in the final section, sits a deep orange-infused sales counter with a backdrop of Thai silk in a matching hue and padded with an abstract fox motif, the brand’s logo.
