India produces some of the world’s finest cocoa, yet its story is rarely seen.

Created for SMOOR under the brand thought “United by Flavours,” the Indian Bean Collection reimagines chocolate as a shared journey – connecting farmers, makers, and consumers through a contemporary visual language rooted in India.

The packaging system is built entirely through original illustration. Inspired by Indian forms, colours, symmetry, and storytelling traditions, each pack brings together people, ingredients, and flavour experiences into one connected composition. The illustrations were designed to feel expressive yet structured, allowing the system to scale seamlessly across bars, nibbles, truffles, and gifting formats.

A key part of the approach was differentiation through colour. While the core illustration framework remains consistent, each flavour introduces its own palette, helping customers easily identify products while creating a strong visual rhythm when placed together on shelf.

Beyond aesthetics, the system was designed to build recognition and consistency across a growing product ecosystem – balancing premium appeal with approachability for modern retail environments.

The collection was launched at India’s first Salon du Chocolat and later featured in The Hindu, becoming an important step in shaping SMOOR’s evolving visual identity system.
