Mellow Cafe is a contemporary hospitality interior design project for a compact takeaway coffee shop in Mulhouse, France. The project explores how architecture, light, and materiality can transform a small commercial space into a memorable customer experience.
Inspired by technology, modern urban culture, and accessible premium design, the interior combines exposed concrete, brushed and distorted mirror stainless steel, textured metal surfaces, and subtle blue accents. The sculptural counter acts as the visual centerpiece, while the metal grid ceiling integrates a layered lighting system that defines the atmosphere and enhances spatial perception.
Despite its compact footprint, every function is carefully planned — from espresso preparation and takeaway service to refrigerated displays, retail shelving, storage, and staff workflow. Floor graphics intuitively guide customers, while the projected digital menu keeps the interior visually clean and reinforces its contemporary identity.
Rather than relying on decoration, the project uses proportion, materials, and lighting to create a distinctive architectural language. Mellow Cafe demonstrates how thoughtful commercial interior design can maximize operational efficiency while delivering a strong brand experience.
This project represents coffee shop interior design, hospitality architecture, retail design, and modern cafe architecture, proving that small space can achieve both functional excellence and lasting visual impact.
