Dior has had a presence in Japan for many decades, and in Osaka, the fashion house manages no less than three shop-in-shops at leading department stores across town. But as of late, Dior has raised its profile in the port city with a standalone boutique on Midosuji dori, a thoroughfare lined with high-end stores. Occupying a ground floor unit at HHK Midosuji Building, a modern four-storey structure built in 2007, the interior design has been created by the brand’s in-house design team in Paris. The aesthetic is inspired by the Dior flagship store on swanky avenue Montaigne in the French capital, and features a sophisticated pairing of materials and colours, illuminated by subtle nuances of white. Mind you, some of the walls have been decorated with graphic cannage, an iconic Dior motif. The new Dior store carries women’s and men’s apparel, accessories, bags, shoes, small leather goods, eyewear, watches and jewellery pieces. © superfuture
