Established Coffee by Terry Design, Belfast – Northern Ireland

July 11th, 2015 by retail design blog

Terry Design worked closely with Mark Ashbridge – coffee connoisseur, Irish Aeropress champion and owner of Established Coffee, to carry out the concept design and fit-out.

The design and layout challenges all preconceptions of local coffee shops. We felt it was important for the coffee to be the main attraction and for this reason we have designed a minimalistic interior. We opted for raw materials, concrete, reclaimed timber and steel juxtaposed with birch ply, LG HI-MAC, straight grained oak and a white backdrop giving the interior an industrial yet scandinavian feel.

The large communal table is a real focal point in the social space. Concrete was poured on site for the wood grained base which punches through wide mahogany planks of timber. Power points were fitted in the table, people are encouraged to make use of the free wifi, chill out over a cup of coffee and take in the urban atmosphere.
