The designer, also the founder of iks Design, Masakazu Kobayashi had been looking for low-cost furniture that was well designed and simple when he was designing interiors for his clients. Therefore he decided to make by himself what he had been looking for. The furniture is all made out of Japanese standard plywood size 910*1820.

Using the standard plywoods makes it possible to produce economically, furthermore able to ship at low-cost and purchasers are able to put it together without any screws nor hardware. Because of these efficiencies, he named his furniture as ‘efficient.’
