Mirrored pavilion for Dior’s Spring 2018 collection by Bureau Betak, Paris – France

Bureau Betak’s design for the space required the artisans to hand place over 80,000 mirror shards throughout the interior with the strongest concentration at the far end the space – giving the runway’s portal the feeling of a frozen wonderland.

ONE through ZERO installation by Robert Indiana

Placed on the open southern field of the property, the numbers line the path that leads down to the pond and pavilion below. Marking the first time the installation has included all ten numbers in one location, the placement of the artwork within the Glass House‘s architectural context was particularly important.

Onyx Towers by Marco Porpora Architects, Verona – Italy

The space is articulated within a simple rectangle open on the three sides, but it creates soft and sinuous sets around the three onyx towers. The round shape, the basic element of the stand design, takes on various spatial or simply flat proportions and is repeatedly reproduced from the ceiling to the platform.

The exhibition “Trésors Quotidiens” at WeWork La Fayette shows a series of nostalgic collectibles — physical products in an increasingly digital era. Baron’s selection includes approximately 35 products that enhance the creative workspace, chosen from 20 iconic galleries, bookstores and concept stores throughout Paris.

Silo of Silence – Clicked Core by Haegue Yang, Berlin – Germany

Based in both Seoul and Berlin, Korean artist Haegue Yang is known for using mundane objects and materials, ranging from industrial mass-produced items to organic and immaterial things such as smells or noises as well, to create intricate and nuanced installations.

“Healing pavilion” by Ball-Nogues Studio, Los Angeles – California

The pavilion was created using 2,793 linear feet of 2-inch diameter mild steel tube. In total, 352 individual components were precisely bent with a computer numerically controlled rolling system. Together, the tubes form an occupiable structural shell with no extraneous elements.

For this year’s edition, Exhibit Columbus worked with five international galleries to create installations along Washington street, Columbus’ main artery. Each of these galleries selected one designer from its stable to develop an object or experience that ‘enhances human interaction and connection, and that inspires community conversations about the role of design in daily life’.

The temporary metropolis, erected annually, draws colossal crowds of devoted “burners” who come to experience spirituality, community, and art. Guided by the ten principles — first documented by co-founder Larry Harvey in 2004 — participants build the city, and then burn it to the ground 9 days later.

Wal.Diamond Exhibition Center by Shangyuan Art Design, Shenzhen – China

In order to maximize the liquidity of the space, the layout is centered on the circular exhibition hall, with four counters surrounding the black pillars, which create a strong visual impact. The office has different functions, suitable proportion and ideal circulation.

The furniture series explores the possibilities of software contribution to artistic creation, wherein 3D printing serves as an analogue for representing organic forms. Bengtsson begins with what he calls ‘the promise of technology’ – ‘the desire to push the limits of what is imaginable, and the will to create objects unlike any that have existed before’.

Wave of buckets by Factor Eficiencia and 5468796 architecture, Mexico City – Mexico

The 100.0 m² temporary pavilion uses common painter’s buckets as its building blocks, connecting them together via an expansive grid of ropes. In the Mexican capital these objects are typically used to claim a piece of street by “viene viene” entrepreneurs, who operate outside the government’s oversight and aggressively charge drivers wishing to park.

Forest of Business Cards exhibition by Moriyuki Ochiai Architects

Visitors remove cards of interest, thus changing the exhibit density which in turn shifts their own focus. This results in a complex and beautiful facade that changes from one moment to the next as would the Japanese Sakura (cherry) tree.

The idea is simple; we want to generate an icon, an attractive exhibit that seeks to stir curiosity and catch the attention of the city´s inhabitants. But also, we want to show that the Garnica panels are self-supporting; we haven’t used any supporting structure or sub-structures. We have only used the starting material, the Garnica panels: 39 of them.

COR Shop by BLOCO Arquitetos, Brasilia – Brazil

The client´s briefing for the shop “COR” asked us to create a space that could work both as a showroom for a Brazilian brand of paintings and architectural coatings and as the backdrop for the display of the work of the furniture designer Paulo Alves, from São Paulo.
