We began the project by thinking about how it might be possible to reinvent the idea of a floral motif. We were particularly interested in electron scanning microscope images of flower petals, which reveal tiny three-dimensional wave patterns across the petal surface.

De Beemster trolley-stand by Studiomfd, Netherlands

The design is color-themed. The milk pails and wheels based on an old-fashioned transport bicycle are painted Beemster blue. The covering tarpaulin is printed in the brand’s colors. It creates an oasis of atmosphere in the usually rather functional supermarket environment.

The kiosk’s seamless design is punctuated by hints of orange back painted glass, which add visual punch and draw attention to the display niches. An eye-catching, color-changing LED sign creates a visual beacon and also serves to represent the flavors of the season.
