adidas NYC store, New York City

The interior is inspired by the functional aesthetic of american high school stadiums, and as such it features a tunnel entrance, stands for live-game viewing on big screens, locker rooms instead of dressing rooms, and track and field areas where avid shoppers can test and experience products. To signal the brand’s embrace of environmental principles, sustainability is very much at the core of the design.

At a large retail space, in one of the biggest shopping centers in Denmark, we designed, developed, and built this very special sport and fashion store. Emphasis was placed on the footwear wall with specific focus on flexibility through the use of a custom peg wall system. By introducing glorifier boxes on the peg wall, various feature products can be displayed alongside brand specific magnetic graphics.

The well-known Schwab cottage feeling was to be retained. To improve the ambience, the small shingle roof was removed, the existing slabs on the walls stayed, but the colours were changed and wood was added on the ceiling and on the floor.

On site, euro-pallets were stacked up to create tables, spruce planks were used as wall panelling and clothes are suspended on chains in the staircase. Pre-designed stencils were used to write cheeky slogans onto furniture and walls.
