Siemens Office by CAPEXUS, Prague, Czech Republic

The main element of the interior design is OSB construction, which supports not only the suspended ceilings, but also areas for relaxation and informal meetings. Thanks to the OSB plates and the use of subtle shades of color, complemented by corporate blue, CAPEXUS created a bright, cozy and unusual space to work in.

On site, euro-pallets were stacked up to create tables, spruce planks were used as wall panelling and clothes are suspended on chains in the staircase. Pre-designed stencils were used to write cheeky slogans onto furniture and walls.

CAFES! Summer Café by Dark Design Group, Ufa – Russia

Despite a limited budget, Russian studio Dark Design Group created a material-conscious temporary outdoor cafe in Ufa, about 1300km east of Moscow. Set to inhabit the space for summer only, the design was based on basic construction principles, making use of simple materials that will permit easy disassembly in the autumn.

Symbiotic Green Wall

Normally at a big construction site, an ugly OSB wall plastered with posters provides a barrier between the site and the rest of the city. Typically thought of as eyesores, these walls are anything but pleasing to the eye. But what if they could be transformed into living urban spaces full of plants and systems that provide both an environmental and social benefit to the people walking by? The Symbiotic Green Wall, by Kooho Jung & Hayeon Kelly Choi, could do just that!
