International contact lens brand Menicon opened its first “My Menicon” Showroom and Training Center on two floors in Berlin’s Friedrichstraße 187, Germany in April 2012. The design by Hamburg based architecture and deign firm STLH emphasizes on the process of finding the best contact lens for the client by highlighting the different stages of the process. The examination of the clients’ eyes is done in transparent, organic cabins, which, once the clients enter them, will be switched to translucent. Quiet, bright cabins are provided for testing the contact lenses.
On the first floor, the Training Center and lounge is located. Menicon plans to invite contact lens specialists from all over germany to impart the latest techniques and methods of working with their products.
Forms, materials and colors where chosen and combined to present contact lenses as a medical as well as a lifestyle product. RGB-LED technology creates mulit-color effects during evening and nights when the showroom is closed.
