We’re in full preparation for Abergavenny Food Festival this weekend and very exciting it is too! Abergavenny has become one of the food festivals in the UK with dedicated foodies travelling the length and breadth of the country to visit. We’re really excited to finally be showing our stunning Christmas range to the public. We’ve been making them fresh this week so they will now last through Christmas.
We think our new Christmas Chocolate Gingerbreads or Lebkuchen are absolutely stunning and epitomise Lick the Spoon’s style capturing the artistic skills of our team. As a small producer we like to make products that couldn’t easily be replicated by machine. Lebkuchen is a traditional German recipe which we’ve used as the basis of our own original (and top secret) recipe – even we can’t find the notebook sometimes!
A big hit for us last year was our Christmas Orange and building on that success we’ve expanded the range to include a Victorianna Raspberry and Christmas Snowball. We’ve also worked closely with British Packaging manufacturers to create a striking new pyramid design with input from Liberty of London earlier this year. Christmas Chocolate Orange, Ginger Snowball and Victorianna Raspberry The packaging shown here was the first prototype and doesn’t show the beautiful foil blocked design created by Diana which for us was the icing on the cake!
The baubles are all made from our own blend of Venezuelan origin milk chocolate hand decorated. Our Christmas orange is designed to recreate a traditional orange studded with cloves and is filled with real orange segments dipped in our Grenadan house blend dark chocolate. The Victorianna Raspberry recreates a traditional Victorian Christmas decoration only this time it’s edible. It is filled with real chocolate coated freeze dried raspberries. The first raspberry bauble was an exclusive for Liberty last year and a few lucky Cirencester and Bath customers. This year it’s available to everyone.
Completing the trio we have our beautiful Christmas Snowball filled with chocolate coated dipped stem ginger. We think they’re all stunning! We couldn’t do Christmas of course without bringing back some of our famous chocolate snowglobe creatures. This year we have a Christmas Chocolate Robin in snowglobe, complete with dessicated coconut snow! His companion the Penguin is back this year too!
