Sought-after fashion label, Proenza Schouler, chose to establish their home in the Upper East Side of Manhattan on Madison Avenue. The lighting design caters to the store’s juxtaposition of intimate and refined by enveloping the customer in light from the moment they walk in, creating a sense of consistency in a series of contrasting spaces. Lighting fixtures hidden within the architectural details lead visitors through a space enveloped in dark wood, past a stairwell that serves as a “palate cleanser,” and into a space finished with textured pre-cast concrete.
