Citrix UK, the company transforming how people, businesses and IT work and collaborate in the cloud era, was looking to refurbish their existing premises in Chalfont Park, Buckinghamshire, which houses their staff training as well as a client demonstration centre. The brief to Area Sq was to create a high quality environment, suitable for staff and customer events, using the latest technology to showcase the current and future range of Citrix products as well as reflecting their strong brand image whilst being sympathetic to the Grade II building that they occupy.
Area Sq carried out internal consultations to gain an in-depth understanding of what the client was trying to achieve. Area Sq subsequently recommended a design solution which did not involve making any major alterations to the building in order to obtain planning consent within the deadlines set by the client. The refurbishment included the reception, boardroom, auditorium and break out area as well as an executive office and open plan area.
The Furniture supplied by Area Sq’s sister company Sketch includes Techo desking, Orangebox tables and Sedus chairs in the meeting rooms. The boardroom was furnished with WJ Whites and Interstuhl
Silver chairs.
James Geekie, Head of Design at Area Sq Regions says: “by working with the existing features of the building and incorporating contemporary touches, we created an elegant interior which enhances the visitor’s experience.”
Richard Margetts, Manager UK Real Estate at Citrix comments: “Fitting out a 300 year old grade 2 manor house for a market leading IT company was never going to be easy, especially as the brief was to bring the new into the old whilst being sympathetic to the main structure. Area Sq achieved this and have provided our staff and customers with a wow factor experience.”
