Cotton On recently opened its’ latest flagship super store at Adelaide’s famous historic Rundle Mall. Set within a heritage listed building of 1500 sq. m, over 2 levels, Cotton On have refined their approach to the multi brand store. Conceived by the Cotton On in house design studio, the store revisits basic concepts of considered design to deliver a fresh approach in presenting the everexpanding range of product.
The reclaimed building offered an authentic distressed canvas to the store aesthetic, perfectly suited to the 1991 ‘heritage’ of the brand. Careful design decisions bring the existing architectural envelope to life, and by exposing a double height void at the entrance, a bold statement to the retail experience was created within. The new ‘Super Store’ concept of ‘shops within a shop’ creates an umbrella for Cotton On’s key offerings of men and womens fashion, Body and Kids, together with Rubi shoes and Co.exclusive.
The addition of ‘Café Webale’, the Cotton On Foundation’s latest project, provides customers a break to sip sustainably produced coffee, unique in that 100% of all profits from the coffee and chocolate bars sold is donated to projects in Mannya; a village in Southern Uganda that the company has been working with since 2007.
The success of this new conceptual approach ensures the expansion of further large format Cotton On stores globally in countries such as USA, South Africa, Asia and their home country Australia, cementing their status as an emerging key international player.
