No more tedious online browsing for Prada-obsessed swedes now that the Italian luxury brand has opened its first store in Stockholm. Located on a prestigious stretch of downtown real estate, it has a retail space of 585 sqm. [6,297 sq.ft.], spread over different rooms on a single level and boasts. The interior design has once again been created by the brand’s longtime collaborator, Italian architect Roberto Baciocchi. a black + white chequered marble floor, a signature feature in Prada stores, acts as a unifying element in the space.
While carpeting defines the women’s ready-to-wear and shoe areas, the setting where men’s and women’s leather goods is presented, has a more neutral setting with thin-framed polished steel cases and black marble drawers, polished steel counters and green velvet ottomans. Black marble portals lead into more reserved areas, offering the women’s footwear and ready- to-wear collections respectively.
The first area is defined by classic niches, reviewed on a green fabric curtain backdrop; curved green velvet sofas and round crystal tables complete the furniture. The ready-to-wear is displayed in two rooms, also completely covered in green fabric curtain material. A display system with transparent perspex panels and special tables with shaped perspex tops adds a modern touch.
