è spinazzè is a concept-store recently opened in the pedestrian area of SanDona’ di Piave, a small town in the Venice region. This intervention aims at relaunching the urban centre, which has been suffering because of the presence of new retail mammoths, just outside the motorway exits. A historical place (it was a theatre-coffee house in the twenties) was renovated: the project “cleans up” the shell and establishes a dialogue between new objects, new lighting and the existing materials, seeking new images and atmospheres.
The shopping space isn’t meant just to foster continuously, hysterically changing, fashion-chasing consumption, but as a will to build a space for the knowledge of historical places, featuring a contemporary use that shall call us into question. A challenge not only for the project but for the places and the town as well.
