Huge black & white hand-drawn manga illustrations take over the back wall and fixtures in Y-3 at Selfridges this week, transforming it into a backdrop fit for comic book superheroes. Neon orange shelving cuts through the monochromatic composition to highlight tension graphics showcasing lookbook imagery and a screen playing footage of Yohji Yamamoto’s superhero inspired collection. Yamamoto’s Crime-Fighting Contraptions, Getaway Gear and Camouflage Devices pop against the back wall and rest upon a lit table top, adorned in a half-tone, black & white dot print.
Sitting in front of Yamamoto’s Y-3 collab is Stella McCartney’s latest collection for Adidas; fitted with a new graphic update for the Autumn/Winter collection. Two light boxes, TV unit and rail bases are wrapped in a graphic black and white wood print from the collection.
