Southgate Mall welcomes the latest concept for Spareparts: a one stop shop for premium sunglasses and watches. We are thrilled to be a part of the brand`s transition into a new aesthetic and a tailored selection for this Edmonton location. Spareparts latest vision is introduced perfectly by this beautifully curated store, and is a must for you to check out

The DesignSpareparts Southgate, Interior
A mid-century modern design reminds us that the details and accessories are just as significant as the big picture. With custom elements including copper piping, asymmetrical light fixtures and stamped concrete tiles, we were able to create an experience that is truly a reflection of the new concept for the Spareparts brand. This attention to detail creates eye-catching moments throughout the space and compliments the fashion accessory merchandise that lines the shelves.

From the storefront, you’re welcomed by a soft glow. The custom showcases facing to the hall were designed with back-lit lighting to create an ideal place for you to hand-pick your next favourite accessory. Edmonton based Urban Concrete handmade the geometric tiles on the concrete facade that playfully pull you inside. These tiles are repeated behind the cashwrap to create a focal point and anchor the back wall. The vast selection of sunglasses are displayed on high-gloss metal shelves that sweep around the perimeter.

A primary focus from the mid-century modern aesthetic was the classic oak wood detailing. By using wood in a slatted vertical application, we crafted clean architectural lines that provide height and texture to the space. The strategy behind this was to offer a unique backdrop that wouldn’t take away from the product on display.

With the vision of form and detail, Cutler collaborated with Vancouver light fixture artist Matthew McCormick to create striking bespoke light fixtures. These pieces feature copper detailing similar to the vertical copper piping, acting as a decorative support to the display cases. The asymmetrical bulbs create movement, shaping the way you move around the store.

The Return of a timely fashion
The mid-century modern style is based on clean foundations, integration of natural materials and attention to specific detail. We at Cutler are very excited to incorporate this way of thinking into the latest Spareparts store. Everything about Spareparts is modern and unique, with a hint of an edge. This new concept delivers all of what you’ve come to rely on from the brand in a detail-driven, efficient experience.
