In the design and study of the residence, INS try to observe and inspect the design process from the perspective of the “Things to Himself”. “The First Words of Paper”- the original voice of a paper, it is spontaneous, just like the baby voice. It present a complete state, an original state or a final state. INS focus the process from the beginning to the ending, it means the forming process. Architecture offer the space form, it contains the inner strength of decomposition and composition, recording the moment of the strength change as the final design result.

A piece of paper decompose three elements, which are the face, line and the point. They present different sizes, positions and materials from the driven in strength. Some of them leave trace on the space, becoming the decoration part, some become the functional part. Residence-as a highly functional traditional concept, to meet material needs and spiritual needs, the latter is increasing demand, sometimes they express the state of opposites, sometimes unify.

The present life is becoming more and more compound and diversity, the space functions is becoming more and more blurred, to create more material needs and spiritual needs. In this project, INS hope to represent the relation between material and spiritual through mixing space functions and the moment of strength change. Substance exist independent of human consciousness before Kant, he raise that substance exist in people’s cognition. In some people view, this is just a piece of paper, but in others, this is the whole world.
