The world of retail is in a constant state of evolution. Brands are in continuous search of ways to renew their identity, whilst staying true to their heritage. Clarks Originals, for example, is a brand known for its authenticity and originality is always been part of their DNA. With this in mind and in close collaboration with the Clarks Originals design team, we came up with this year’s Clarks Pitti Uomo exhibition booth, as we’ve done for the previous editions of the renowned retail fair. To surround and showcase the Clarks Originals collection we chose from a pallet of premium materials.
Cement walls, a polished concrete floor and the wood wall panelling for the ceiling confine the booth in a robust, industrial way. These heavy elements are contrasted with the elegance of the walnut stained timber used in the wall finishing, seating and detailing throughout the booth. The colour of the patina brass, used in both the eye-catching centrepiece table and the finishes, complements the Clarks Originals’ collection without stealing any of its shine. Same goes for the black steel pedestals on which the footwear is presented, that were custom made for the event.
The large LED-illuminated visuals on the booth’s walls are mainly there for inspiration, but match perfectly with the cosiness the array of materials surrounding them create. As a finishing touch, the new Clarks Originals’ logo was constructed in blackened steel and fixed upon the concrete wall. The glow coming from behind the letters literally highlights the logo, making it pop right out of the concrete wall behind it. Like we said: we’re always evolving.
