After setting up a handful of shop-in-shops and branded corners in a handful of leading department stores across Seoul, luxury women’s brand Céline has upped its presence with a standalone boutique in the leafy shopping area of Cheongdam. It’s set across two floors of a modern structure that’s situated along a sloping street, amidst an abundance of outposts by peers from the luxury industry.

The interior design dons the brand’s newest retail design codes, captured by natural stone flooring and shelving, marble displays, and sleek steel clothing racks on the ground floor, and this forms the backdrop for its coveted bag collection and small leather goods. One floor up, the ready-to-wear is presented, and the sense of luxury is cranked up a few notches, most notably with a floor of beautifully inlaid with semi-precious stones. The premises are dotted with sculptural furniture pieces by danish artist Thomas Poulsen a.k.a. FOS. The new Céline store carries the brand’s full range of apparel, shoes, bags and eyewear collections.
