We set sail for a packaging inspired by the Lamprey of the Miño River tradition and history. Our challenge was to create a packaging that match up with this very high quality product. The Lamprey “A la Bordalesa”, is not just a Galician traditional dish… it is an expression of tradition and ancestral customs that merge in an exquisite recipe.

For the packaging design we decided to illustrate the arrival of the fishermen on the banks of the river, with a retro style illustrations in a cool pastel colors mix and a texture background imitating aged paper. Besides the two main characters, the design also has other ornamental elements that are iconic of the fishing universe, like seagulls, knots, hooks….

With this packaging we wanted that the container and the contents blend together to offer consumers a quality experience. The result is a packaging that disrupts the shelf, provides impact and interest, whilst retaining authenticity and provenance.
