As determined entrepreneurs, the two associates from Oli & Ève Maison de Coiffure dreamed of opening an out-of-the-ordinary hair salon. A place of contemporary design that would bring together functionality, comfort and originality that could offer their clientele a unique experience on top of an impeccable hairdressing service. The designers imagined an exclusive environment with a mix of boldness, chic and aesthetics. In the industrial-looking space with 18 feet high ceiling and visible concrete, designers took advantage of the abundant natural light while adding a touch of human warmth and conviviality.
They divided the space with three vast modules perfectly integrated to the surrounding decor. These structures provide a workstation for hairstylists, colorists and barbers. By their impressive size (9 feet tall) and their mirrors, they strongly reflect light and create an enlarging effect. Of note, the shampooing seats are located in a dark black alcove, emphasizing the colorists work. The challenge was to transform Oli & Ève into an emblematic visual territory and make it become a reference. In an attempt to seduce visitors right from the start, the designers sought the most unique and gratifying experience.
The customer is appealed by this mysterious and captivating 18 feet mural displaying a young woman with bushy hair crying out. Is she joyful, euphoric or furious? The customer will be living and expressing these emotions throughout his physical transformation. Another essential element is the majestic tree acting as the living heart and soul of the premises. Surrounded by vertical mounts allowing a structured blossoming, the Ficus raises towards the industrial-looking ceiling and fades away over a discreet and linear lighting.
A unique promotional tool, the white canvas pierced by over 50 hairdressing scissors with the writing “Je ne suis peut-être pas parfait, mais mes cheveux le sont ! ” (I am not perfect but my hair is), is a true symbol of the Oli & Ève brand. Customers love it! Finally, the selfie wall adds a touch of youth and humour to the space and encourages visitors to freely post their new head on social medias. In summary, the designers have succeeded in making the most out of this commercial space and creating a hair salon that is a harmonious combination of attractive and unique elements while dividing it into highly functional areas.
