Next to Vesper Cocktail Bar on Convent Road in Bangkok, the newly opened Via Maris, Latin for ‘Way of the sea,’ is now serving Mediterranean flavours from North Africa, Spain and Southern Italy. The Mediterranean-inspired bistro interior, designed by Whitespace, is an attractive and vibrant space for the local foodies. The entrance of the restaurant is marked by orange & white patterned tiles on either side of the tall door, beautifully contrasted in teal blue that is used throughout the exterior and interior. After entering, customers are greeted with a brightly colored mural map of the Mediterranean opposite an intimate bar marked by hanging globe lights. Natural wood bistro chairs and tables with marble tops accommodate small and large groups. All of the design elements combined to evoke the welcoming atmosphere of the Mediterranean.
