Realizing a more human approach to technology, Mastercard’s new Sydney office strengthens the global financial services brand and market presence in Australia as a place for its people. IA Design recently designed the new Mastercard offices, the global financial services company’s location in Sydney, Australia.
Mastercard’s new St Leonard’s Campus is a state-of-the-art tech hub and a dynamic, connected global work environment. The drive for the design team was to realise a more human approach to technology and the physical environment; strengthening the brand and market presence in Australia as place ‘for its people’ and those who visit the new ‘Mastercard place’.
The visitors journey starts from the street with a light and sound experience. Light pierces through the perforated awning mimicking the motion of the traveller below, the created ‘Sounds of Mastercard’ signify the arrival and we are instantly connected to the brand.
Moving into the entry and past a new reception and waiting area, a large café and outdoor terrace provides an activated environment that is visible from the street. The café is open to staff and visitors creating a relationship between Mastercard people and the locals of St Leonards.
The coworking space as the building’s ‘hub’, enables communication physically and digitally through the building. A 6m high LED wall enables digital content that surprises and stimulates Mastercards’ Staff, Partners and Clients.
This ‘hub’ space enables all 900 staff to physically and digitally connect. The stairs, cantilevered breakout space and gantry’s enable a real sense of place.
