YVY is an original Brazilian distillery. The brand values the essence of the country in all its processes, products, and choices. YVY Vodka is produced in Brazil, from sugar cane and babaçu coconut, which are typical Brazilian ingredients that defy vodka’s expected neutrality.
Product identity is the most outstanding element of its development: the relationship between purity and flavor with representations of day, night and their contrasts, preserving nature’s harmony. The flower a typical Amazon plant referred to as Victoria amazonica is a key element, and brings in a peculiar feature: it lasts 48 hours and only blossoms at night, the blossom lasts until the following morning, exhaling a sweet scent.
The graphic outcome features the evening twilight, the moment between sunset and nightfall, represented by the blossoming movement of the Victoria amazonica flower, also known as jaçanã and vitória régia in Brazilian Portuguese. The semicircle shape is a representation of the reflection of the moon on the water, referring to the well-known legend from northern Brazil in which Jaci – the Moon God – turns Indigenous woman Naiá into a Victoria amazonica plant, after she drowns in the river while admiring the beauty of the reflected moon. Constellations are present in all YVY brand products, and they appear here as a representation of Brazilian imaginary legends and stories.
The refill project sought to understand and reduce the distillery’s impacts throughout the production and consumption chain, presenting a more responsible and sustainable path. With this in mind, the vodka is also presented in a canned version as well as in reusable glass bottles, which allows consumers to renew their stock without having to buy new bottles. The advantages of canned refills include easy storage, reduced waste volume, cost-effectiveness, and, most importantly, positive impacts on the environment.
