Given the high median income of its residents, the Bay Area is fertile ground for luxury brands, and although San Francisco is home to the majority of high-end boutiques, LOEWE has decided otherwise, opening its first boutique in the area in San Jose. The Spanish fashion house has secured a unit on the ground floor of Westfield Valley Fair, a large shopping centre with a sizeable range of luxury brands which serves shoppers residing in the Bay Area‘s lower end. The interior design, created by the brand’s designer Jonathan Anderson and his in-house design team, sees all the signature hallmarks of LOEWE‘s current retail design, most notably the blue, glazed Spanish tiles which not only make the store façade stand out, but also cover walls indoor in blue, off-white and a deep brown hue. Furnishings comprise shelving and displays also clad in tiles, alternated by displays covered in marble, artisanal wool carpets crafted in Spain and designed by longstanding collaborator John Allen. Similar to most other LOEWE retail spaces, the store also features Dutch architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld‘s iconic Utrecht chair. The new LOEWE store carries the brand’s women’s and men’s apparel, accessories, bags, small leather goods, shoes and fragrances.
