Furnish & Shade, located in Kirti Nagar, New Delhi, is a 6,500 sq. ft. retail space designed by OSA Studio, led by Daksh Goel. The store integrates minimalist interiors with Vaastu principles, emphasizing blinds and fixtures. The design deviates from typical retail spaces by featuring a triple-height volume that connects the basement, ground floor, and first floor. Sculptural folded-plate staircases enhance the vertical flow, making the store an engaging spatial experience. A central lift, surrounded by a staircase, guides visitors through the store, adding rhythm to movement. The façade merges traditional Rajasthani jali with a modern rusted copper finish, filtering light and enhancing visual appeal while maintaining thermal comfort. At night, the façade transforms into a glowing artwork. Inside, custom-designed furniture, including a cantilevered discussion table with an integrated planter, blends form and function. Serene niches with curved blue fabric panels provide peaceful retreats, balancing the store’s dynamic spaces. Furnish & Shade exemplifies the fusion of tradition and modern design, offering a cohesive and immersive retail experience.
