Abel Design Group’s Colliers offices in Houston showcases a harmonious blend of connectivity and identity, featuring a sculptural reception area and a striking internal stair that promotes collaboration and wellness.

Abel Design Group partnered with Colliers to create a workplace that emphasizes connectivity, collaboration, and a strong sense of identity. Stepping off the elevator, guests are welcomed into a reception area defined by a curved banquette and a sculptural installation of warm gray translucent tubes. These tubes filter natural light while acting as a perforated divider between the boardroom and breakroom, offering both definition and openness. The large boardroom was designed with overflow in mind, opening directly to the reception, stair, and breakroom to accommodate town hall meetings and large gatherings. Inside, comfortable banquettes, a watercolor wallcovering, and sculptural light fixtures create a setting that balances function with visual interest.

At the heart of the office, a dramatic internal stair connects the primary level’s gathering space with the secondary-level coffee bar. Crafted from thin powder-coated steel panels and a warm wood tread runner, the stair is both architectural centerpiece and functional link. Complemented by a living green wall and flanked by additional conference rooms, the stair embodies Colliers’ commitment to wellness and collaboration.

The office layout reinforces a team-based model, with open ceilings, custom-designed light fixtures over workstation pods, and connecting back corridors that display commercial project plans and developer packages. To balance openness with acoustic comfort, ADG integrated colorful tile installations that double as art, framing each teamwork bullpen.

The result is a workplace that reflects Colliers’ collaborative culture—an environment where natural light, thoughtful detailing, and purposeful design come together to support both focus and community.
