British shoe brand Grenson has raised its profile across the Atlantic by opening its first store stateside in New York City. The shop occupies an elongated yet compact ground floor unit of a low-rise structure built in 1925. The interior design comprises of clean simple lines, captured by fixtures in cherry wood that extend all the way to the back of the store and a matching ceiling of slatted wood. Exposed bricks, an original characteristic of the building, adds a storeyed edge to the setting. A small seating area at the front allows shoppers to sit back, try on shoes and soak up the atmosphere. The new Grenson store stocks the brand’s full range of men’s and women’s shoes, and provides services such as bespoke, repairs and the Grenson Lab Service which allows the most discerning of shoppers to have shoes made according to their own specifications.
