The latest in the Camper Together series – for which creatives are invited to design shops for the shoe label – can be found in Vienna, Austria. This time around, Spanish designer Juli Capella was at the helm, opting for a sleek white interior with mirrors and fun additions: customers are confronted with a giant trumpet by the door and massive pot of coffee in the rear of the space. ‘Though subdued, comfortable and monochromatic, the interior is not minimalist but maximalist, full of hidden meanings and hints to the user rather than the customer,’ Capella says.

In the centre of the store, shoppers can try products while seated on a long row of white chairs. In small niches, everyday objects are displayed – coat hangers, telephones and steering wheels – all painted white to allow the shoes to be the focal points. Capella says the Camper Together concept allows shoes to be ‘exhibited,’ creating a new way and understanding of shopping.
