Following standalone boutiques in Ebisu and Aoyama, Maison Margiela adds a third one at Ginza Six, the Japanese capital’s new hub of luxury in the Ginza area that we’ve been talking about excessively these past few days. Perched on the third floor, it occupies a spacious 170 sqm. unit, and features a distinct interior design by the Brand’s in-house design team. The store is wallpapered with tromp l’oeil stickers that feature a typically haussmannian-style wall and door. Rattan shelving, arranged in a curve, provide a warm visual contrast, and separating two different sections along the way.
The outer section contains clean and rigid components, such as mortar flooring and silver hanger racks whereas the inner space is clad in tromp l’oeil carpeting printed with a motif of randomly stacked persian rugs. Additional furnishings comprise of matching rattan chairs, hexagonal mirror tables and turn-style mirrors, creating an intimate oasis where to sit back and relax. The new Maison Margiela boutique stocks the brand’s collections of women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, shoes, bags, and accessories, in addition to eyewear, jewellery pieces and fragrances.
