The perks of Tel Aviv are plentiful and alluring, and as of late, there’s an additional bonus that specifically ticks all the boxes of the most discerning of travellers. We’re talking The Lighthouse, the latest boutique property of Brown Hotels that has opened in one of the Mediterranean’s most buzzing cities. Occupying Migdalor House, a 1970s Brutalist high-rise building in the heart of town, the hotel features 100 spacious guestrooms and a string of well-designed facilities that add to the city’s rep as a cool lifestyle haven, all created by local architect Nestor Sandbank. The fun vibe is evident upon entering the premises, captured by lobby’s stylish settings that effortlessly persuade to sit back, relax or mingle any time of the day.
The aesthetic is defined by gold-plated sections, antlers mounted to the wall and colourful contemporary furnishings, and seating areas demarcated by curved lattice fences. The eye for detail extends to the design of the rooms, featuring bright wooden-clad walls that punctuate light through their innovatively designed crevices. Bright carpets rest upon hardwood flooring accented by contemporary furnishings and lighting accents. The queen and king-size beds are made with Egyptian cotton, and the full-tub showers are filled with luxurious Molton Brown amenities. As said, The Lighthouse is situated in a multi-storey structure, so the views, either of the sprawling urban landscape or the glittering ocean, are sweeping.
Twelve exclusive terrace rooms offer private balconies with outdoor jacuzzis and ensured privacy by a natural fence of lush greenery, while twelve Junior and Executive Suites feature separate seating areas and a slew of in-room amenities. Celebrating the good life, extra effort has been made to soothe the senses, and on the culinary front, this has resulted in a fine dining space on the fifth floor serving dishes inspired by dairy and fish, but it’s also where guests can recharge over a good breakfast and a tasty lunch. Tel Aviv is renowned for clubbing, and The Lighthouse pitches in through a collab with Aria, In a party mood? The Lighthouse has partnered with Aria, a leading events production company which guarantees guests access to a buzzing parties, craft cocktails and tapas-style plates.
Additionally, the hotel hosts Haiku on the premises, a much-anticipated addition to the city’s nightlife offerings perched on the rooftop. Mood-setting music, dim lighting and rich colour-schemes amplify the dramatics at the stylish sky lounge. Sway to the beat or sit back and enjoy bottle service and tasty local bites. For those who’ve come to town to mix pleasure with business, The Lighthouse offers banquet and conference rooms that accommodate up to 400 people in equal style. Although fully ready to host and entertain guests, the property is still in transformation mode as the final renovation phase will see an additional 60 guestrooms across two entire floors.
