Pedro Gaspar, Pedro Palha, and Vasco Mendonça couldn’t find quality men’s apparel for a long time, and eventually, relying on their collective professional background in communications, branding, marketing and design, they decided to launch their own brand. That was in 2017, and ever since, ISTO. has gone leaps and bounds, offering a full men’s wardrobe comprising apparel, accessories and socks. The brand’s non-seasonal collections are crafted from organic and natural materials, and all sourced from a curated range of certified manufacturers. ISTO. currently operates four standalone boutiques across Lisbon, and the latest one has opened in the historic downtown district of Chiado. The store occupies a 55 sqm. (592 sq.ft.) on the ground floor of a residential building and features an interior design by DC.AD, a Lisbon-based architecture and design studio. The space is marked by three arches of natural stone which are part of the building’s original architectural features. The chosen aesthetics spawn from ISTO.‘s ethical and environmentally-conscious core values, resulting in a palette of subdued colours, such as grey, yellow, green, pink and blue. Additionally, the use of glass and acrylic reference the brand’s transparency. Furnishings are simple and understated, and include a sales counter with a striking marble front, which ties in with the clothing displays, a display table, shelving units and a mirror. Mind you, two of the arches have been closed off to accommodate two fitting rooms. The new ISTO. store stocks the brand’s full range of apparel, denim, accessories, and swimwear.
