Fin light by Tom Dixon

British designer Tom Dixon has developed a new lighting collection which is to be featured at his ‘luminosity’ showcase at the MOST design festival during Milan Ddesign Week 2012. Entitled ‘Fin Light’, the fixtures represent an ode to engineering. Using the vaulted space of the Museo Nazionale Della Scienza e Della Tecnologia, the pieces expose their inner details, which are traditionally hidden from view. The components such as a heat sink, large acrylic lens and 6 LEDs are contained within circular and cylindrical pieces that are finished in polished steel, bronze and navy blue.
