Nike Soccer Rebento Duffel 3D printed bag

June 3rd, 2014 by retail design blog

The design team at Nike Soccer has gifted a trio of the world’s best football players with something truly unique: the Nike Soccer Rebento Duffel, the world’s first 3D printed performance sports bag. The lucky recipients are Neymar Jr., Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo, who will carry the bag this summer in Brazil. The design takes cues from the Nike Flyknit pattern on the Nike Magista and Mercurial boots, with laser-sintered nylon creating an intertwined weave on the 3D printed base.

That latter component is what gives the body its lightweight yet durable structure, which is complemented with premium leather at the straps and upper paneling, fitted seamlessly without the use of any glue or adhesive. Custom gold hardware featuring the player’s name is the finishing touch. Check out detailed looks below.
