Sometimes when meeting with clients there is no personal relationship and it may take a few back and forth meetings to get to know the client and find the concept that speaks to them With this job it was immediate – an established friendship with Tabatha, and her strong sense of vision for her salon made our job a relative cakewalk. When asked to give two words to best describe her vision… she immediately said Glamorous and Organic – Being a Davines Concept Salon it was important to Tabatha to use recycled or repurposed materials for furniture/décor if possible – using the recycled wood mirrors to warm the space and respect the Davines concept seemed fitting and the result is stunning.

The mixture of brass, wood, black and white Is one of our favourite palettes The Vogue Paper and photographs hanging above the wash bar are a nod to the fashion industry which go hand in hand with the world of Beauty. As with any Design job I do – something is the inspiration– whether a fabric swatch, paint colour or as in this case a magazine cover – it is the starting off point, the spark so to speak. So with this cover and armed with Tab’s two Magic Words it all came together seamlessly.

I am so pleased with the result and feel I represented the essence of the Amazing Woman at Mod’s helm. My gift of the LOVE BALL created by a wonderfully talented Friend Wendy Williams Watt was to represent the Love for oneself, for each other, for one’s craft, for our passions, and for the community/world we live in…. this ball felt like a natural fit. There will never be a shortage of Love at Mod – it is part of their motto shining brightly in neon on their wall and it is apparent that Tabatha and her team love what they do and for whom they do it for– Mod is bursting at the seams with it.
