Swiss artist John Armleder’s window installation gives visitors the holiday spirit at the iconic shopping centre in Italy’s fashion capital. Facing Milan’s Piazza Duomo, a row of windows along the building’s arcade are seemingly half full, filled with thousands of shiny ornaments. Like giant fish tanks, each window contains either entirely red, white or green balls. The main event of each aquarium, tall canvases covered with splattered paint which drip into the amass of tree trimmings complete each composition. La Rinascente‘s displays are coined with the unpoetic name: Let it Shine, Let it Shine, Let it Shine. It’s Xmas again!
