The concept that inspired me was the Mayan Quincunx, a glyph in the form of a rhombus that represents a star, or Venus. The materials that I chose were concrete and different tones of wood. For the marbles, I chose gold, silver and copper finishes, to represent the stars.

Sound absorbing ceiling curved panels, inspired by the sound waves, penetrate into the hairdressing salon and often come down to the floor giving more privacy in the stations. A vertical garden acts as a focal feature while separating the environments. The use of natural woods, marbles and warm colors complete the look, converting the 870sqm in a unique and relaxing retreat.

The concept is based on a system of wavy panels that resume to the braided wicker texture. Sixty-nine “wavy marble sails of wicker” are hung on a metal load-bearing fan-shaped structure that is 5 meters high and 7 meters long.
