The building is dramatically shaped around a luminous spherical auditorium, which is referred to as ‘the eye’. Surrounding this focal point, terraced bookshelves echo the form of the orb, resulting a topographical landscape of contours that wraps around the entirety of the interior.

Glass Farm by MVRDV, Schijndel – The Netherlands

The print varies in translucency depending requirements for light and views. At night the structure is illuminated from the inside, a monument to the traditional farmhouse. At a height of 14 metres the Glass Farm is intentionally designed out of scale and is 1.6 times larger than a real farm, symbolizing the village’s growth into a town.

DnB NOR headquarters by MVRDV, Oslo

The objective was to translate the social and democratic character of the organisation into a building with excellent working conditions and spatial qualities. The structure is conceived as a steel ‘rack’ which permits adaptation to the flexible nature of the organisation.
