London’s old Bond street is one of the planet’s most prestigious shopping areas. An extensive renovation, initiated by Gucci’s creative director Frida Giannini, has added a modern glitz to the brand’s flagship there that’s in sync with its new design concept. Referencing iconic gucci materials and elements of many of its equally iconic stores from the past, and maximizing the use of natural light, the vibe is one of ultimate contemporary luxe.

The flagship is pretty much a u-turn from traditional codified retail spaces, and is now structured around an open space. Signature materials such as rosewood and marble are eclectically paired with ribbed glass, polished gold, smoked mirror and bronzed glass, reminiscent of the art déco era. The alternated sections of glass and mirror combined with the white marble flooring cleverly create an elongated perspective and spaciousness.

The ground floor features gucci’s menswear collection, in addition to men’s accessories, luggage and small leather goods. One floor up, it’s all about handbags, women’s accessories, jewellery, silks and fragrances while the entire second floor is dedicated to the womenswear collection.
