Vibrant colour and complex geometry combine at a New York pop-up shop for fashion label Ohne Titel. The shop spans 167-sq-m and is filled with red powder-coated aluminium panels. The pieces were pre-cut and folded to fit together on-site, creating free-standing walls.
Toward the rear of the shop, clothing items from Ohne Titel are displayed, hanging from hollow plastic tubes that weave through the panels. Meanwhile, Focus Lighting emphasized the geometric shapes of the panels, seeking to ‘immerse’ visitors into the environment.
‘We needed dark and bright areas in the walls’ interlocking structure for its depth to appear,’ says designer Juan Pablo Lira of Focus Lighting. The pop-up shop can be visited at 57 Walker St., New York. It can be visited until 14 December.
This is the fifth and final project completed for the Boffo Building Fashion series. Boffo has paired fashion designers with architects to investigate the connection between the two fields. Check out the projects’ other pop-ups, including The Lake & Stars, Fibulae and one for Lady Gaga by Nicola Formichetti.
