Rodd & Gunn Chadstone store, Melbourne. This lodge design was created to stand the test of time due to the use of masculine, authentic and hardwearing materials that work in harmony and reflect the clothing to be found within. The design by ‘Pennant and Triumph’ is styled around a NZ contemporary luxury lodge. The format incorporates elements found within this type of environment such as a schist stone fireplace, basalt tiles, oak wooden floors, wool rugs, chandeliers, wall battens and a restful neutral colour palette.

The furniture is chunky and masculine including thicker than normal shelving, rustic tables and leather/fur seating. The shop front features an inbuilt log pile and large windowpanes to replicate the exterior of a lodge. The design is aimed at providing a sense of permanence & yet contemporary style. Everything in this lodge will weather well with age. The other key design aspect to this lodge is the way the store is split into smaller areas for shopping – mini rooms rather than one large retail space.

This enables the brand to show and thus communicate the different collections within Rodd & Gunn giving each clothing line it’s own space and flavour. The room concept also allows customers to enjoy and experience a sense of discovery as they navigate the Lodge.
