pS Arkitektur has created a fun and playful new interior for Dynabyte located in central Stockholm, Sweden. Dynabyte is a Swedish IT consultant firm focusing on system development and system integration. The client requested an interior that would feel like the “home away from home”. For many of the 100 employees that spend a lot of time out of their own office. Therefore the interior indicates a cheerful playfulness and the satisfaction of the office.
The interior is colourful and animated, yet it has serious elements to meet the functional needs of the business. Furniture and the floor plan have a strong focus on flexibility and convenience. The many colours in the design scheme emphasize the flexibility. With flexible workstations and constantly changing team formations, chords and electronics are all over the place. Instead of complicated efforts for hiding and labelling these consequences as problems, the chords are emphasized as a fun element.
The design scheme has evolved around the early stages of the Internet. The walls are decorated with custom made Ascii-art, which is art composed of programming text. Abstracted out of this color scheme, a meta-realistic design theme is applied on photo realistic wallpapers. The rooms are designed as themes such as a sea, a forest and a city.
A kind of Meta concept where nothing is what it seems to be, quite like the digital world itself where nothing is “for real” but does exists because it depicts the real world. Kitchen tiles, doors and even objects are all part of the masquerade that plays a part in this new and spirited concept.
