The entrance to DIFFA’s Dining by Design 2013 represents the journey of an AIDS victim; illustrated metaphorically through the “light at the end of the tunnel” that DIFFA’s efforts provide. Through the use of perspective, one is naturally drawn into the show as they experience an array of mirrored light bulbs incased in a dark envelope.
The combination of two hundred and seventy two light bulbs creates an abstracted mirror above, making the cause relatable as viewers look up and see their own reflection. Powerful yet nostalgic, the design pulls one in to reflect, literally and figuratively, on the cause.
